Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia
ELSA SOCIETY PROFILE
The Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA) is a non-profitable organization founded by a small group of Asian endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery enthusiasts in 1990.

The society was chartered in Singapore on 12 June 1992 with the following objectives: to foster and develop endoscopic surgery in Asia, to share experience and expertise, and to give advice on standards of practice in member countries.
ELSA today is the major regional representative for endoscopic surgeons in the Asia-Pacific. It is a founding member of the International Federation of Societies of Endoscopic Surgeons (IFSES), and its governing body consists of leaders in endoscopic surgery from 37 countries in the Asia-Pacific, from Turkey in the west to New Zealand in the east.

ELSA Executive Committee is composed of 6 permanent members elected every 2 years.

Dear Colleagues,
It is with immense pleasure and a deep sense of honor that I extend my warmest greetings to all to participate of the IAGES-ELSA Congress 2026 which is going to be 23rd Annual congress of IAGES and 3rd Biennial Spring meeting of ELSA to be held in February 2026. As we converge in the vibrant and dynamic city of Mumbai, we are united by a shared commitment to advancing the field of surgery and improving patient care. This year’s theme, “Beyond Evidence – Experience,” encapsulates a profound understanding of the essence of our profession.
In our pursuit of medical excellence, evidence-based practices serve as the cornerstone of our decision-making processes.
Dr. Satish Midha
