Korean Society of Endo-Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgery
KSERS SOCIETY PROFILE
The Korean Society of Endo-Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgery’s mission is to enrich patients’ lives with painless and scarless surgery and contribute to human well-being.
In 1987, laparoscopic cholecystectomy was implemented successfully for the first time in the world. Since then, the technique has become widespread across the world. In South Korea, it has quickly spread since 1990 and is currently used in the majority of medical organizations.
The distinct characteristics of the laparoscopic technique have required systematic and academic research, and increased the demand for new techniques or tools, which led to the necessity of founding a domestic society dedicated to the study of laparoscope surgery.
The introduction of endoscopic & laparoscopic surgery in the 1900s was a monumental change in the paradigm of surgical surgery. Our new challenges, along with developed equipment, have enabled a number of surgeries that we thought would be impossible in the early days. However, there are still more things to be accomplished. What patients really want are safe surgery with no pain and no surgical wounds. The role of our society is to educate members with an insight and to encourage and support the introduction of new technologies.
ELSA Executive Committee is composed of 36 permanent members elected every 2 years.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
With the Korean Society of Endoscopic Robot Surgery (KSERS) as one of the leaders in the standardization and globalization of robotic surgery, the 2024 International KSERS symposium will discuss the latest trends with NEW academic programs to promote exchanges among members and strengthen cooperation with international societies such as EAES, JSES, SAGES, ELSA and IFSES to develop into a greater international collaboration. We will do our best to implement a new website and actively support members so they can easily participate and promote their rights and interests.
We truly believe KSERS 2024 will be a highly rewarding international festival for each and every one of our participants, so please mark the dates in your calendar now and follow our updates on our website!
We invite you to Daejeon Convention Center where science, art, technology, and humans coexist. A waterside cultural complex district formed around Gapcheon River will provide a variety of entertainment to participants visiting Daejeon. Daejeon, located in the center of Korea, can be reached within 2 hours from anywhere in the country, including 50 minutes from Seoul and 90 minutes from Busan.
We hope you stay healthy in the meantime and look forward to meeting you at the KSERS 2024 Congress in Daejeon!
With Best Regards,
